Introducing SSZ: Steve’s Simracing Zone

Hello, and welcome back to Steve’s Motorsport Blog! Those who have been keeping tabs on this blog know that this is not my day job, but a hobby I do on the side.

What started as an avenue to vent about my passions and share my motorsport photography became a bit too much of a jobish thing to try to grow the blog. I still love the blog, but often when I think of something to write, it takes a while to finish it. As I type this out, I have a draft post that I’ve been working on since Summer 2023…yes 2023.

Thinking of what I can do to try to get regular content out and not take too much time out of my busy life; I decided to start to include my simracing endeavors.

Thus, welcome to a new edition to the SMB stables, SSZ! This is where I will talk about what I am doing with simracing and some other simracing related topics.

I will not cover news, unless it’s relevant. I will absolutely share other people’s content when I make appearances, such as an episode of Radio Le Mans’ The Simcast podcast (which you can listen to here:).

I mainly participate in simracing on PC, and mostly iRacing to boot. I love that sim, and try to get some laps in whenever I can to unwind from work. I’ve even done my first iRacing endurance races this year with the Simcast crew & co. (thus far Nurburgring 24hr, Spa 24hr and Indy 6hr). There will be more news there, so stay tuned to the Simcast and this blog for when it comes.

At minimum, I will try to have a weekly report going over my IMSA Weathertech series progress (where I am currently driving in LMP2, and plan to promote myself to GTP soon). In the meantime, I will have a post Indy 6hr (which happened earlier today) report shortly.

I hope this goes well, as simracing has really taken off since COVID, and now that I have a place of my own to have my own proper rig (another post I will be making soon, detailing what I have and why I picked it) I should have more time for it.

Thanks for reading, and as always; drop a comment, like & share!
